Known as the "Eastern Olive Oil," camellia oil is a delicious local specialty from Taiwan. Jin Chun employs a low-temperature pressing method to retain the nutrients of the camellia seeds. The oil has a bright golden color and a refreshing, rich flavor with a strong tea aroma. With a smoke point of up to 220 degrees Celsius, it produces minimal smoke during cooking, making it suitable for various high-heat culinary applications.
Strict Quality Control for Freshness
The quality of camellia oil hinges on the seeds' origin. The precious seeds from the camellia tree must endure natural elements like spring thunder, summer rain, autumn winds, and winter frost before passing pesticide residue tests. After ripening, the seeds undergo sun exposure, freezing storage, and low-temperature roasting to release their rich nutrients and yield every drop of bright golden oil. Jin Chun exclusively uses the first cold-pressed oil to ensure consumers receive the highest quality camellia oil.
Promoting Local Camellia Tree Restoration
In recent years, Taiwan's camellia seed industry has faced economic challenges, leading to widespread deforestation. Founder Chen Fu-Kang believes that "with the high demand for camellia oil in Taiwan, self-sufficiency in cultivation would reduce reliance on imports." Therefore, in addition to cultivating their own gardens, Jin Chun actively purchases local camellia seeds and encourages farmers in Miaoli to switch to camellia cultivation. Even when local production is insufficient and seeds need to be imported from mainland China, Jin Chun maintains strict quality control. Chen Fu-Kang and his son personally oversee seed quality and have established inspection centers on-site to ensure compliance with standards.
