Organic Hemp Seed Oil 236ml
The hemp seed oil that is used for cosmetics and skin care products contains a high amount of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acids), which makes it an important ingredient in anti-inflammatory skin care formulations.
Hemp plants produce seeds that are rich in pure oil. The oil contained within hemp seeds is about 75 to 80% polyunsaturated fatty acid (the good fat) and only 9 to 11% of the lesser desired saturated fatty acids. Hemp seeds contain about 40% oil, and blends together the benefits of edible vegetable oils and marine fish oils. Hemp seed oil is a rich source of both Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids (EFA's), and Vitamin E. It also contains small amounts of the following polyunsaturated fats: Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), Oleic acid, and Stearidonic acid.
Omega 6 and Omega 3 EFA's are required more in our diet than any other vitamin, and yet our bodies do not produce them naturally. These oils must be ingested in their pure form, as they can not be metabolized from other food sources. These healing enzymes can be absorbed directly into the skin to replenish missing oils, so they are ideally suited for many cosmetics and skin care products. Hemp oil also provides an ample supply of carotene, phytosterols, and phospholipids, in addition to a large number of minerals including: calcium, sulfur, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. It is also a good source of chlorophyll.
Gamma Lineolic Acid (GLA) is very important in your body, as it helps to maintain and care for your skin. It is not commonly found within natural oils and some exceptional sources for this rare acid include hemp, evening rose and borage. Hemp oil has been dubbed, "Natures most perfectly balanced oil in the plant kingdom", because it contains a perfectly balanced 3 to 1 ratio of Omega 6 (linolic/LA) to Omega 3 (alpha-linolenic/LNA) essential fatty acids. These two EFA's have been found to be the optimum requirement for healthy human nutrition.

EFA's are known to have preventative role in our skins aging process. The outflow of moisture from the body is regulated by a barrier the skin forms to protect itself from the external environment. Omega 6 and Gamma Lineolic Acid (GLA), help to preserve this barrier, and in turn, reduce the loss of moisture from your skin. Skin that is lacking in Omega 6 and GLA allow a greater loss of moisture, causing dryness. Dry skin problems, such as eczema, psoriasis, cracking, scaling, and loss of elasticity can be reversed by using skin care products containing Omega 6 fatty acids. Regular use of medicinal hemp seed oil can help reduce any skin discomfort by soothing and restoring dry damaged skin, leaving it smooth, silky, and moisturized. It is also an excellent choice for hair and lip care.
Using Hemp seed oil can also improve energy levels, blood pressure, regularity, cholesterol levels, hair, finger nails, and help ease joint and arthritic pains. It can also help to improve concentration levels and assist in combatting mood disorders. Recent studies have shown that EFA's can help prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes, stroke, and also relieve symptoms of chronic illness in both humans and pets. Many studies have shown that North Americans have a high dietary deficiency in EFA's because of a high consumption of animal fats versus plant fats, caused by a great intake of processed foods and meats.
WHY CHOOSE HEMP SEED OIL?
The choice is clear, it has the highest Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio content of five major oils.
Hemp Seed Oil 3:1
Canola Oil 2:1
Coconut Oil 2:0
Soybean Oil 1:1
Flax Seed Oil 0.25:1
Because of its balance and versatility, clear hemp oil is the most perfect of vegetable oils. Properly used, clear hemp oil can promote the same health and life style benefits as hemp hearts. Hemp seed oil is made from only from the inner parts of the hemp seed. It is higher in essential fatty acids (EFA) than other oils, yet has the lowest amount of undesirable saturated and mono-unsaturated fats. Although hemp oil does not have the protein content of hemp hearts, many other high protein foods and valuable non protein foods can be enhanced nutritionally by preparing them with clear hemp cooking and salad oil.
For this reason it is beneficial, as it helps to heal skin lesions, balance dry skin and fight skin inflammations.
It is a non-greasy, emollient and moisturizing compound with excellent anti-ageing and moisture balancing properties.
